Greetings future entrepreneurs, network marketers, and affluent individuals. My name is John Hackl, and I recently discovered the wonderful world that is Online Marketing. Like many people, I have a story to tell. The story of my life is neither poor nor glamorous. Like many people, I have gone through my fair share of hardships and pleasures. I have had a lot at times and very little at others, but I have a great life. When I graduated from High School, I entered the Military, U.S. Army and spent 3 years there. I served our country as an MP (Military Police), and did many different duties successfully, after the 3 years in the Army, I was Honorably discharged.
After the military I entered college; and I Graduated. At the time personal computers were not a big thing yet. They were as big as a room. Enter my lack of computer skills. I finally ended up in a marketing and finance program. I guess I regret not taking computer class, but I didn’t see then, that the future would require computers so much in the world were we live in today. Now, I wish I had studied computers because things would have been easier for me along the way had I taken the computer skilled courses.
I got out of college and I swear I only remember two things from my years there. The two thing I remember are:
“Time is Money” and “Money Makes Money”.
#1) Always use you time for revenue generating things when you work. Time.
#2) Buy things for a low price with Money! Improve it, and Sell it for a Higher price. Profit.
I guess I was an Entrepreneur. Long story short I lived by those two rules for many years, but I never got to where I wanted to be. When I was working I had some money, but I never had the time I wanted. I had many jobs of various types. I worked in a bank processing loans and didn’t like being cooped up inside and always yearned to be outside. I worked as a carpenter to be outside, but that was hard work, and occasional work and I had to look for my next job.
So one day my Pontiac Firebird got sideswiped when I was not there. I got home and saw the dent and called my insurance company and he said your rates will go up and your only estimate is only $15.00 dollars over your deductible. So why claim it. So I still had the giant dent in my door and the insurance decision!
I decided I am going to fix this myself and had No idea how to do it. But I learned to do it, and became Good enough to do my own Classic cars and work in that field. I asked questions and made mistakes and finally got the dent out and got it blended in and painted. It looked professionally done. I was inspired and others asked me to do their dents on their cars and I did it on weekends and was outside and I was making money on weekends more than my job was paying me. I was happy, but had no time. So I quit my hourly job. After a while I had to find more jobs, cars to do, and find more cars every time I wanted to make money. Exchanging Time for Dollars.
I spent a lot of years buying up old rust free cars in California and taking them back east and reselling them in the snow belt states. I saw a market for what people wanted and filled it and had a lot of fun doing it. I drove them , had friends drive with me and had car carriers with 9 nine of my cars on them delivered to my house back there and I would drive the 10Th one. I would advertise in 5 Major City Newspapers and people would come from all around for the rust free classic cars up North. I would sell all I could in a weekend ( Leave the rest in my garage and fly back to California. This is all leading up to my then and my future as an entrepreneur. I didn’t know someday there would be a way to do all this work World Wide on the Internet. Eventually I was doing more work on cars on the weekend and making more money than my weekday job. Well it turns out I did this for many years to come. I remembered those two things I learned in college “Time is money and Money makes Money”. So I bought my own Classic cars fixed and painted them and increased there value. I had Body shops and I painted cars and eventually I started to buy and sell my own cars. restoring them and increasing there value even more. I restored Classic cars from the 60s and 70s and I would buy them and found out I didn’t have to work for an hourly wage and I could set my own hours, and for many years I would work when I wanted to working about half the weeks of the year and taking off the other weeks of the year.
I did a lot of traveling, and had a lot of time off. I wanted more so I went off and set up a traditional brick and mortar business. What I set up was an auto body shop; painting cars, customs, and classics. Dealing with insurance companies, vendors, supplies, employees, hiring and firing. And I did this for many years. The money was better, but what I had lost was the time/freedom that I had when I worked for myself. At that point I set out to find and do something that allowed me the time freedom that I had before I set up the auto business.
Eventually I got into network marketing about eight or nine years ago; and I didn’t know quite what I was doing at the time. I had been a follower of people that do know what they are doing, and have again watched them and learned for myself; just like when I self taught myself to Paint Custom Cars. I learned to do the things that made them successful and than did it for myself. To make me successful. Again I Read Books, Trained and Studied Networking and developing multiple systems, incomes, and multiple business opportunities.
I got into a Vitamin business ( BODY BALANCE) and did very well at it. I got up to the rank of Two Star Diamond and in less than one year doing as other people did. ( But it cost me a price ). I was making about 12k a month, and found that the time it took and the calling leads that was required was not worth it. I would spend sometimes twelve to thirteen hours a day on the phone. Calling a thousand phone numbers a month. Receiving ninety to ninety-five percent, answering machines only. And very rarely getting calls back. At that point, I found that this was not what I wanted to do. I wanted my time back and freedom. ( I still receive a check from that company, after I quit five years ago. SO I know these businesses work. ) Other people are still doing it the hard way. The old school way. I found the New School way here.
I still receive a check on the tenth of every month, for doing nothing. Because new people in that company are still making me money calling, and Networking; With the money I made from the networking company, Money I made very quickly, I was able to buy two brick and mortar businesses that allowed me more time freedom because the employees ran the place, and I just processed the paperwork, deposits, checks, and bill paying. One was, and still is very successful to this day. The other Failed in this economy.
What I have learned from all of this is “What is important to me” is that I have the time to enjoy the things I want to do now. During the week and weekends. The Freedom to do what I want to do when I want to do it.
At one point where I was calling leads and left that other company, I was going to hotel meetings, house meetings, making thousands of phone calls, and I didn’t have any time to myself, to spend my money. I vowed that only when New Technology came around I would get back into network marketing, but till then I would Not do it. It is here now in the System on this page.
